Relief Operator Maintainer – Mechanical

Looking for a hands-on mechanical role where no two swings are the same?
Zenith Energy is seeking an experienced Relief Operator Maintainer – Mechanical to provide operational and maintenance support across our remote power station sites. This is a dynamic FIFO role suited to someone who thrives in remote operations, enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, and values safety, teamwork, and reliability.
Working across multiple sites, you’ll support operational continuity, assist with new site mobilisations, and help maintain critical power generation assets that keep remote operations running.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing relief coverage for Mechanical Operators across various Zenith Energy sites
- Conducting routine and breakdown maintenance on power generation equipment
- Fault finding, troubleshooting, and control system testing
- Supporting new site mobilisation and operational readiness activities
- Maintaining station equipment and auxiliary systems
- Completing reports, maintenance records, timesheets, and stock management tasks
- Assisting with continuous improvement projects and plant upgrades
- Supporting safe work practices and maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Responding to after-hours breakdowns while on site when required
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Mechanical or Heavy Diesel trade qualification
- Minimum 2 years post-trade experience
- Experience in heavy industry environments
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capability
- Current driver’s license
- Strong communication and computer literacy skills
- Ability to work independently in remote environments
- Commitment to safety and HSE compliance
Highly Regarded
- Remote site experience
- Power generation or stationary engine experience
- Gas engine and fuel systems experience
- Experience with reciprocating engine repairs
- Pronto CMMS experience
- High Risk Work Licenses (Forklift, Rigging, Working at Heights, Confined Space, etc.)
