Position Summary:
With minimal supervision, performs moves for incoming and outgoing product in excess of 5,500 lbs. where forklifts are not able to complete the required lifts. Work together between shifts to accomplish the heavy crane requirements. This includes the transfer of railcars with the Shuttle Wagon, the upload of finished goods by truck/rail, and railcar configuration goals.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
· Complete rigging operations for finished goods
· Ensure only product that is marked “Ready to Ship” prior to material moves are initiated
· Ensure that rigging equipment is maintained in good working order
· Develop and document new lifting procedures with Engineering Support
· Maintain flexibility to perform warehousing functions, if required
· Take directions from Warehouse and Production to support shipping goals
· Provide individual rigging inspections and follow safe rigging practices
· Report when work assignments are complete
· Initiate and drive process improvements
· Conduct non-standard lifts building and loading the trailers; trouble shoot trailers
· Operate a variety of cranes; boom truck crane, jib crane,100-ton bridge crane, 400-ton bridge crane, etc.
· Operate a variety of forklifts; forklift up to 5K, forklift above 5K, forklift 180K, etc.
· Operate Shuttle Wagon for rail move on public rail
· Maintain manual or computerized records including shipping paperwork
· Provide alternative options that reduce material handling
· Must Adhere to and follow all safety procedures, i.e. lock-out/tag-out, report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow similar safety practices
Qualifications/Requirements:
· High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED)
· Learn to operate and achieve certifications for a variety of cranes, forklifts, and shuttle wagon
· Willing and able to work any shift and overtime including weekends
· Must be able to lift and carry at least 33 lbs. and push and pull at least 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
· Must be able to stand for long periods of time up to 95% of the shift with or without reasonable accommodation
