E-Bike Battery Engineer (Shenzhen, China)
We are seeking an e-Bike Battery Engineer to support the development and industrialization of our battery systems.
This role is ideal for an engineer with relevant battery or electrical system experience.
Role Overview
In this role, you will act as a key technical interface between our global battery and system engineering teams and our battery suppliers in China. You will support battery system development, validation, quality topics, and supplier execution while ensuring alignment with our technical requirements and timelines.
You will work closely with the Swiss R&D team on analysis, documentation, testing feedback, and technology evaluation, contributing directly to future battery concepts and system roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
On‑Site at Battery Supplier
Act as the resident engineering contact at assigned battery suppliers.
- Support battery pack and BMS development activities, including design updates, prototype builds, and validation phases
- Follow up on technical issues, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Support root‑cause analysis related to electrical, thermal, mechanical, or BMS topics
- Verify compliance with technical specifications, performance targets, and safety requirements
- Ensure structured and continuous communication between supplier teams and Swiss R&D
Battery Development & R&D Support
Support battery system testing (performance, endurance, environmental, safety).
- Analyze test results and feedback into design improvements
- Contribute to system integration of batteries into full eBike platforms.
- Support continuous improvement of requirements, validation methods, and technical documentation
- Contribute to evaluation of battery technologies, materials, and supplier concepts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Several years of experience in battery systems, energy storage, BMS, or related electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals; thermal or mechanical battery knowledge is a plus.
- Experience working with suppliers or in industrialized product development environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage technical topics in a supplier interface role.
- Strong English communication skills; Mandarin is mandatory for supplier interaction
- International work experience is a plus
