F. RoleRequirements / Specifications |
|
Desired Qualifications |
- Primary Degree: A Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) is standard, as the core of the role involves AC/DC design and power systems.
- Secondary Option: A degree in Renewable Energy Engineering or Civil/Mechanical Engineering (provided there is a strong focus on structural design or solar technology).
- Post-Graduation (Optional): An M.Tech in Renewable Energy or Power Systems can be a significant advantage for utility-scale roles.
|
|
Desired Experience |
- 3 to 6 years of core experience in Solar PV design.
- Project Variety: Hands-on experience across different segments:
- Rooftop: Commercial, Industrial (C&I), and Residential net-metering.
- Utility-Scale/Ground-Mounted: Large-capacity plants (MW scale), involving complex terrain and transmission line design.
- Segment Exposure: Knowledge of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) workflows is highly valued, as it shows the candidate understands how designs translate into real-world builds.
- Proven track record of generating bankable energy yield reports using PVsyst and Helioscope.
|
|
Knowledge & Skills |
- Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Principles: Deep understanding of how sunlight converts to electricity, including the impact of irradiance, temperature coefficients, and degradation.
- Electrical Engineering Fundamentals: Mastery of Ohm’s Law, power factor, AC/DC circuit theory, and the mechanics of transformers and switchgears.
- System Components: In-depth knowledge of the latest technology in Bifacial vs. Monofacial modules, String vs. Central inverters, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Regulatory & Safety Standards: Knowledge of national and international codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, IS) and local DISCOM regulations for net-metering and grid-interconnection.
- Geographical & Structural Constraints: Understanding of tilt, azimuth, shadow analysis, and wind-loading requirements for mounting structures.
