Prevailing Wage Specialist
The Prevailing Wage Specialist is responsible for prevailing wage and certified payroll compliance for public works and regulated construction projects. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including the IRA tax credits, Davis-Bacon Act, and partners with Payroll, HR, and Project Management to ensure accurate wage application and documentation.
What will do you as the Prevailing Wage Specialist
- Interpret and apply prevailing wage determinations based on project scope, classification, and jurisdiction
- Prepare, review, and submit weekly certified payroll reports (CPRs).
- Input and audit payroll data, job classifications, fringe benefits, and hours worked.
- Track and communicate wage determination updates and rate changes.
- Coordinate with project managers, operations teams and payroll team to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain documentation for audits and government compliance reviews.
- Collect and maintain documentation supporting apprentice compliance including, apprentice program affiliation and registration, apprentice hour tracking by project and contractor
- Assist with other payroll and benefit tasks as required, reporting into payroll/benefits team.

Do you have the Spark? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in prevailing wage or certified payroll within construction preferred.
- Knowledge of the IRA tax credits, Davis-Bacon Act and relevant state/local laws.
- Proficiency in payroll systems, (Paylocity), Microsoft Office, (especially Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with certified payroll systems (e.g., LCPtracker, NEXtracker,)
