SUMMARYIncumbents have broad environmental knowledge to include applicable laws, rules, policies and regulations specific to water, wastewater, stormwater, pretreatment, air, bio solids, hazardous materials handling and disposal, and other general environmental activities. Functions include program development and management, planning and development, assistance with code development, public education, and customer service. Incumbents coordinate with internal departments, external agencies, and members of the residential and business communities. Incumbents serve as liaisons with contractors, consultants, and vendors, and are required to independently apply laws, rules, regulations, and policies. Incumbents also research, analyze, and prepare program data; evaluate, interpret, and publicize Federal, State, and County requirements as they pertain to environmental programs management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Public Administration, Hydrology, Chemistry, Microbiology or any other Environmental/Water Resources industry related focus, and two years of work experience directly related to area assigned; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License.
