Administrative Assistant Position
A private hospital in the Stellenbosch area is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join its team.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong commitment to excellent patient and client service
- Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
- Previous experience in a medical practice or hospital administration environment is essential and a non-negotiable requirement
- Excellent administrative, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Key Responsibilities
- Obtaining authorisations for patient admissions from medical aid schemes
- Managing extensions and renewals of medical aid authorisations
- Capturing and billing medication and ward stock to patient accounts
- Credit control for medical aid schemes and private patients
- General patient administration
- Reception duties
- Switchboard operation
- Performing additional administrative duties as requested by management
This position is best suited to a candidate with proven medical administration experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide professional support within a healthcare setting.
