The mission of the Environmental Scientist is to perform a variety of environmental services, provide environmental assessments, reports, and evaluations for environmental projects.
The essential functions of the Environmental Scientist are to:
Client Perspective:
This perspective focuses on the individual's relationships with clients. It includes metrics such as client satisfaction with your services, personal satisfaction with your relationships, and retention rates of your relationships. - Prepare scope and fee proposals for new project opportunities and review with client to gain approval.
- Maintain communication with the client during project.
- Maintain client satisfaction through project follow-up after project completion.
- Seek potential supplementary consulting services with existing clients.
Internal Business Process Perspective:
This perspective focuses on the internal business processes that drive the practice or department performance. It includes items such as technical expertise, teamwork, engagement, and impact on group culture. - Perform field work and prepare environmental reports.
- Prepare basic environmental reports.
- Provide support in department protocols, guidelines, and standards with regards to environmental reports.
- Perform field work in compliance with company safety policies.
- Follow policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Assist with the preparation of project deliverables according to the planned direct labor and expense budgets outlined by the Project Manager or Practice Leader.
- Review detailed plans, specifications, and estimates of cost to ensure conformity with the project scope and design standards.
- Be cognizant of task budgets and schedules within project requirements.
- Track project expenses for project field supplies and reimbursables.
- Efficiently manage time towards completion of assignments within schedule and budget.
- Successfully achieve the financial goals set forth for your position (quality work within project budgets, direct labor hours, etc.).

Qualifications:

- BS degree in environmental science with 2-5 years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Seeing, hearing, talking, standing, stooping, bending, walking, reading, and writing.
- Reaching with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.
- Ability to work extended hours at times.
Environment:
- Predominantly office environment: some overnight travel is required.
- The noise level in the office work environment is usually moderate.
- Frequently works in outside weather conditions, possibly for extended assignments.
- The noise level on the construction site is often loud.
