Summary of Position
The Manufacturing Intern will support the organization and standardization of critical manufacturing documentation by creating a comprehensive binder (physical and/or digital) that consolidates procedures, standards, and records related to safety, quality, and productivity. This role will work closely with operations, engineering, and quality teams to ensure accurate, accessible, and up-to-date information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and organize documentation related to safety procedures, quality standards, and productivity metrics
- Develop a structured binder and/or digital repository with clear sections, indexing, and version control
- Identify missing, outdated, or inconsistent documents and coordinate updates with appropriate teams
- Standardize document formats, naming conventions, and revision tracking processes
- Assist in creating or updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and visual aids
- Support the development of process flow diagrams and documentation tools
- Ensure documentation aligns with internal standards and applicable regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO)
- Participate in shop floor walkthroughs to validate documentation accuracy against actual operations
- Support continuous improvement efforts by documenting best practices and process enhancements
- Present final documentation structure and recommendations for ongoing maintenance
