About the role
AGL is seeking a Treasury Manager to support in day-to-day management and optimisation of the Group’s debt portfolio and funding program, including bank facilities, capital markets activity and related governance.
The role provides analysis, execution coordination and stakeholder management to maintain strong liquidity, manage refinancing and covenant risk, and deliver funding outcomes aligned to Treasury Policy, credit metrics and strategic objectives.
This role will operate part-time 3 days/week, on an 8 month maximum term contract.
What You'll Be Doing
Funding program support: Support the Assistant Treasurer to develop and deliver the annual funding plan across bank debt and capital markets; prepare analysis, options papers and approval materials.
Transaction coordination: Coordinate execution steps for funding and refinancing activities (term sheets, internal approvals, documentation, conditions precedent, settlement and post-completion packs).
Debt portfolio analytics: Maintain portfolio analytics (tenor, mix, pricing, covenants, maturity profile); identify risks/opportunities and provide recommendations to the Assistant Treasurer.
Liquidity & covenant monitoring: Monitor liquidity headroom, facility utilisation and covenant metrics; support forecasting and early issue identification/escalation.
Bank & advisor interface: Manage day-to-day engagement with relationship banks and advisors under the Assistant Treasurer’s direction; coordinate lender updates, information requests and syndicate communications.
Documentation & governance: Maintain facility documentation, compliance certificates and delegated authority evidence; ensure adherence to Treasury Policy, approved products and governance steps.
Reporting & insights: Produce accurate and timely reporting for Treasury and governance forums (debt dashboard, funding pipeline, covenant pack, maturity profile) and prepare materials for senior stakeholders.
Systems & controls: Maintain debt registers, confirmations and audit trails; strengthen controls, process discipline and audit readiness.
Cross-functional partnering: Partner with Group Finance, Tax, Legal, Risk and the business on execution timelines, accounting considerations, approvals and disclosure inputs.
What You'll Bring
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or related discipline.
7–10 years’ experience in corporate treasury, banking, debt advisory, DCM or leveraged finance with strong debt execution exposure.
Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing bank facilities (bilateral/syndicated), term loans and working capital facilities.
Experience supporting or executing capital markets transactions (e.g., EMTN/MTN, bonds, private placements) desirable.
Strong understanding of debt documentation, covenants, conditions precedent and drawdown mechanics.
Proven capability in liquidity forecasting and working with financial models to assess funding and covenant impacts.
Experience operating within a policy and delegated authority framework; comfort partnering with Legal and Compliance.
Professional qualification (CA/CPA/CFA/ACT or similar) desirable.
