Join WSP as a Senior Environmental Scientist and take on a key advisory role supporting clients across complex and highly regulated environments. In this role, you will lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) compliance and risk management initiatives, support major capital projects and transactions, and work closely with clients, lenders, and multidisciplinary teams across a wide range of industrial sectors.
Your Impact
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on EHS regulatory compliance and environmental and safety risk management.
- Lead and support EHS compliance audits and ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 management system audits.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve EHS management systems aligned with regulatory and best‑practice requirements.
- Deliver EHS due diligence services for mergers & acquisitions, divestments, and major capital projects.
- Serve as Project Manager or Task Lead on consulting assignments, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
- Work directly with clients, lenders, investors, legal counsel, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
- Prepare clear, defensible technical reports suitable for clients, lenders, investors, and legal review.
- Support business development activities, including RFP responses, proposal development, technical scoping, and client discussions.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal EHS regulations.
- 7–15 years of EHS consulting experience in Canada.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Environmental Auditor (EP), Environmental Management Systems Lead Auditor (EP‑EMSLA), Compliance Environmental Auditor (EP‑CEA), and/or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
- ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.
- Proven experience delivering EHS due diligence.
- Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, ISSB / IFRS, and CSSB.
- Experience supporting EHS and sustainability programs within Mining, Utilities, Power Generation, Renewables, Construction & Infrastructure, and Manufacturing sectors; mining‑specific EHS experience is considered an asset.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $93,700 – $124,200
MB & ON: $85,500 – $117,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $84,700 – $112,400
