Compensation: Competitive salary up to $140,000+ based on experience, leadership scope, and market data—top-of-range compensation is reserved for candidates who demonstrate strong, job-relevant experience and enterprise-level impact
If you’re a safety leader who can drive accountability, influence culture, and own safety outcomes across a complex industrial organization—this role will feel like a natural fit.
At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we’re looking for a Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) who can lead company-wide safety and environmental strategy across manufacturing, service, and field operations.
This is not a policy-maintenance role—this is ownership of safety performance, risk reduction, and cultural impact. This role requires a leader who is comfortable being highly visible in operational environments, addressing unsafe behaviors directly, and partnering with leaders to improve execution without compromising accountability.
You won’t get lost here—your leadership will directly shape how safety is executed across the organization.
What This Role Really Is
This is a strategic and operational leadership role—you’ll spend your time driving safety and environmental programs, enforcing accountability, influencing leadership behavior, and ensuring compliance while being responsible for real-world operational risk reduction across the business.
Who Thrives Here (and Who Doesn’t)
You’ll do well here if you:
- Hold leaders accountable for safety performance—not just policies
- Can influence behavior across all levels of the organization
- Balance compliance with practical, real-world execution
This role is likely not a fit if you:
- Prefer maintaining programs rather than driving change
- Avoid difficult conversations around safety accountability
- Focus only on compliance instead of culture and performance
What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)

- Assess current safety performance, risks, and program effectiveness
- Establish clear safety priorities, metrics, and accountability expectations
- Begin driving consistency across manufacturing, service, and field operations
- Identify and initiate key improvements in high-risk areas
