About Solar Provider Group
Solar Provider Group (SPG) is a global solar developer with offices in the United States, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands and active projects across North America and Europe. This role is part of the Company’s North American team, which is focused primarily on the development of solar and BESS projects in the United States and Canada, with most current activity in the United States. We identify, secure, and advance high-quality sites through the full development cycle, from early-stage land acquisition to construction readiness. Our team combines technical expertise, financial insight, and strong local relationships to deliver projects that accelerate the clean-energy transition and create lasting value for landowners and communities.
The Role
We are seeking a strategic, analytical, tech-savvy, and highly organized Land Acquisition Strategy Manager to elevate the performance of the Company’s land acquisition funnel across its target markets. Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, this role is responsible for managing and improving conversion of prospects to signed site control agreements by strengthening outreach strategy, CRM discipline, reporting, marketing, and overall funnel performance.
This role is ideal for someone who can improve the system around the field effort by building better processes, using data to improve results, refining outreach and marketing approaches, and making the land acquisition function more disciplined, scalable, and effective across the Company’s solar and BESS pipeline.
Work Location
For candidates based in the United States: This position is fully remote and will be performed from the successful candidate’s home office while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
For candidates based in Toronto: This is a hybrid role based in the Company’s Liberty Village office, with an expected schedule of at least three days per week in the office and the balance worked remotely from the successful candidate’s home office, subject in each case to business needs and the Company’s work practices from time to time.
In either case, frequent travel across U.S. states to visit project sites and engage with local communities should be expected.
Duties & Responsibilities
Funnel Performance and Reporting
- Own the performance of the Company’s land acquisition funnel from prospect generation through signed site control agreements.
- Track, analyze, and improve conversion rates across the funnel by identifying bottlenecks, improving lead quality, and increasing signed leases.
- Develop and maintain reporting that gives leadership clear visibility into pipeline health, outreach activity, conversion performance, and regional results.
Outreach Strategy, Marketing, and Testing
- Develop, propose and execute annual and quarterly Land Acquisition team strategies aligned with the Company’s internal site selection criteria, annual goals, and budget.
- Own the Land Acquisition team’s outreach strategy, including mailers, messaging, landowner touchpoints, and other field-supporting marketing efforts, in collaboration with the Land Acquisition team’s on-the-ground knowledge and experience.
- Design, run, and evaluate tests across outreach channels, messaging, campaigns, and workflows to improve conversion.
CRM, Systems, and Process Discipline
- Own the quality and usefulness of the Land Acquisition team’s CRM, including data standards, workflows, and dashboards.
- Ensure prospects, outreach activity, notes, and deal status are accurately and consistently entered and tracked.
- In conjunction with the Director of Real Estate, establish clear operating standards for the Land Acquisition team, defining what success looks like at each funnel stage. Ensure the team is effectively using available tools (e.g., CRM, email campaigns, dialing systems) and identify new tools where gaps exist.
- Active use of GIS-based tools, including managing data connections between the CRM and GIS platforms.
Field Leadership and Team Support
- Oversee the day-to-day performance of the Land Acquisition team, by establishing weekly priorities, goals, and outreach strategies to align team activity with the Company’s annual and quarterly goals.
- Support the Land Acquisition team by overseeing data management, outreach materials, marketing support, and funnel insights to improve their effectiveness in the field.
- Develop playbooks, templates, and best practices that improve consistency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the Land Acquisition Coordinator and Land Partnerships Specialist day-to-day performance, ensuring CRM hygiene, outreach logistics, landowner follow-up, and administrative support are running smoothly.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in sales operations, funnel management, business operations, commercial analytics, business development operations, or a similar role focused on improving conversion and performance.
- Significant experience in land acquisition team management in the United States is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience building, managing, and improving multi-stage funnels using data, reporting, and process discipline.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear insights and practical actions.
- Experience owning or materially shaping outreach strategy, messaging, campaign testing, or related marketing efforts.
- Strong CRM and systems fluency; experience with Monday.com, SharePoint, Excel, ArcGIS based tools, and reporting/dashboard tools is strongly preferred.
- Highly tech-savvy, with an openness to adopting and using new tools, including AI, email marketing platforms, dialing systems, and automation tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Clear and confident communicator who can drive accountability and improve execution without relying on formal hierarchy.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and improve how a team works, not just what it does.
