Description:
The Building Decarbonization Specialist willbe responsible forleading research and development of decarbonization policy for the built environment within the county. This position will serve as the primary liaison between staff and the Denver Regional Council of Government’s Building Policy Collaborative (BPC) to advise on advanced building decarbonization policy governing both commercial and residential buildings and support implementation of the countywide Climate Action Plan.
This positionoperateson a Hybrid schedule Monday- Thursday, 40 hours a week. This role is grant funded with an expected end date of September30 of 2029
Hiring Range: $69,405.42–$83,520.17USD Annually
Compensation will bedeterminedbased on education,experienceand skills.

Researches, analyzes, and recommends building decarbonization policy for the county to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from residential and commercial buildings. Example policies include commercial benchmarking and performance policies and residential home energy transparency policies.
Provides education and communication surrounding building decarbonization policy, building energy efficiency, beneficial electrification, and emissions to county staff and the public.
