The Environmental Compliance Assistant provides support to the university's environmental compliance programs. The Environmental Compliance Assistant reports to the Safety and Compliance Manager who falls under Environmental Health and Safety. Responsibilities include assisting with administrative tasks, data management, field data collection and research related to wastewater, drinking water, and stormwater. The role helps maintain accurate environmental data and assists with compliance activities.
Responsibilities- Assist with inspections, audits, and assessments of campus facilities to support environmental and safety compliance efforts.
- Help prepare documentation, records, and reports related to inspections, training, and compliance activities.
- Support the delivery of safety training, outreach, and educational materials.
- Provide general assistance with environmental and waste management activities, as appropriate.
- Support EH&S staff in promoting a culture of safety, environmental compliance, and risk awareness across campus.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with two or more years of experience in an office or administrative support position. College or other relevant post-secondary coursework may substitute for the experience requirement on a year for year basis. Testing may be required to assess competency on word processing software.
Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

• Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
• Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or obtaining a degree in a related field, and/or experience in environmental compliance (stormwater, environmental programs, environmental inspections, regulatory environmental agencies, etc. )
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Experience with office productivity tools including spreadsheets, word processing, and basic database systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the full Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to learn new systems, processes, and analytical methods. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently.
