Description:
As the Debug Engineer you will become an integral part our overall Quality & Reliability Team. SolarEdge places high value in providing best-in-class products and you will play an important part in achieving this goal!
What you will do:
- Diagnose and debug failing SolarEdge units from the production line, identifying defective components, circuitry issues, or assembly defects.
- Support contract manufacturers (CMs) with on‑line and off‑line failure resolution.
- Perform structured failure analysis to determine root cause and provide clear documentation of findings.
- Support the Quality team in validating corrective actions and preventing recurring issues.
- Collaborate with Hardware and Manufacturing Engineering to identify design, process, or reliability issues and recommend improvements.
- Analyze actual and historical failure trends, provide early alerts preventing escapes and late failure detections.
- Bring products from development into volume manufacturing.
- Use lab/testing equipment to evaluate units, verify hypotheses, and measure performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance yield, reduce scrap, and strengthen hardware robustness.
- 1+ year of experience in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with experience in digital and power electronics design OR 8+ years of practical experience in a HW troubleshooting and failure analysis role.
- Strong understanding of PCB and Circuit Design (digital, analog and power electronics).
- Ability to read schematics and drive PCB rework instructions.
- Practical experience analyzing power conversion topologies.
- Experience with lab/testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, etc.
- Familiarity with manufacturing test processes (ICT, functional test, AOI, etc.)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work with local and international engineers and stakeholders.
