The Yale University Department of History invites applications for the Cassius Marcellus Clay Postdoctoral Fellowship. This fellowship supports research in United States environmental history, broadly defined. The fellow will be affiliated with Yale Environmental History and the Yale Environmental Humanities Program. The fellow will teach one undergraduate course during the fellowship. They also will have opportunities to contribute to ongoing Yale projects related to energy history and/or urban environmental history. Postdoctoral Associates at Yale are appointed for 12-month terms. This position has funding for two years. There is the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and available fundingCompensation is commensurate with education and experience and will include Yale's benefits and a research budget. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026.
PhD requirements must be completed by the beginning of the appointment, and the Ph.D., must have been awarded after Spring 2023.
