Role purpose
This Senior Associate role sits in PwC’s offshore Connected Team and provides structured support to on‑shore Senior Managers and Directors within the Corporate Sustainability (CS) team.
Working closely with Senior Managers and Directors, the Senior Associate – Data Analyst plays a critical role in delivering quality data with respect to environment and climate (greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions), human rights and modern slavery, community impact and investment and other sustainability topics. This will enable data‑driven insights and decision‑making across PwC Australia as well as satisfying PwC network requirements and compliance with local laws (where applicable).
The role supports the Corporate Sustainability team by developing, enhancing and maintaining high‑quality datasets and dashboards that underpin the firm’s sustainability strategy, performance management and reporting obligations.
Key responsibilities
1. Data analytics and insights
- Support the maintenance and implementation of continuous improvements to data visualisation dashboards (e.g. PowerBI) and other reporting tools and processes (Alteryx, Datakit, .
- Support the development of forecasts (e.g. carbon credits, renewable electricity) as well as insights and recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
- Support benchmarking and research to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
2. Sustainability Reporting & Disclosures
- Monitor, track and report against the relevant sustainability topics within CS portfolio
- Support the preparation of internal and external sustainability reporting including local and global annual reports, impact reports and regulatory disclosures.
- Adhere to data objectives of accuracy, completeness, consistency, relevance, timeliness and transparency for audit‑readiness in line with internal governance and external standards.
- Support responses to ad hoc internal and external data requests and surveys (e.g. CDP or client RFPs)
3. Data management & governance
- Support and manage data collection optimising data integrity and observing data controls.
- Support continuous improvements to strengthen data governance and management including calculation methodologies and documentation.
- Support data collation automation efforts and scalability to streamline processes all while maintaining data integrity.
What we’re looking for
Experience and background
- Strong analytical capability with experience working with large or complex datasets.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Alteryx, Datakit, Excel, Power BI, Tableau or similar).
- Experience in data management, data quality and reporting processes.
- Ability to translate data into clear, compelling insights for a range of stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outputs to deadlines.
- Experience working with sustainability, ESG or non‑financial data.
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and standards (e.g. GHG accounting, ESG metrics, or similar).
- Experience with SQL or other data querying tools.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (MS Teams, SharePoint) is a plus.
- Background in professional services or a complex corporate environment.
Professional skills and attributes
- Highly organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple recurrent tasks and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in data entry, reporting and document preparation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to follow instructions, clarify requirements and produce clear, concise outputs.
