Role Summary
The Principal ERP Architect – NetSuite is responsible for the architecture, evolution, and long-term scalability of the NetSuite ERP platform across the organization.
This role is a hands-on ERP architect and transformation leader who will help redesign how the business operates by aligning core business processes with NetSuite’s capabilities and ERP best practices.
The ideal candidate will evaluate current workflows across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Project Delivery and drive the transition toward standardized, ERP-driven processes. This includes challenging legacy practices, simplifying system design, and ensuring NetSuite becomes the operational backbone of the organization.
This role partners closely with leadership and business stakeholders to translate operational complexity into scalable ERP solutions.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Architecture & Platform Ownership
- Serve as the technical and functional architect for the NetSuite ERP platform, including OneWorld, financials, manufacturing, supply chain, and related modules.
- Design the long-term ERP architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with business strategy.
- Define standards for configuration, customization,SuiteScript development, and integrations.
- Ensure the ERP platform remains clean, governed, and aligned with NetSuite best practices.
Business Process Transformation
- Evaluate current business processes and identify opportunities to restructure workflows around ERP capabilities.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain leadership to redesign processes for scalability and automation.
- Drive adoption of ERP-first operational thinking across departments.
- Reduce reliance on manual workarounds, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools.
ERP Program Delivery
- Lead major ERP initiatives including enhancements, integrations, system redesigns, and platform upgrades.
- Translate business requirements into scalable NetSuite solutions.
- Coordinate delivery across internal teams and external NetSuite partners.
- Ensure proper testing, change management, and release management practices.
Integrations & Platform Ecosystem
- Oversee integrations between NetSuite and adjacent systems such as Salesforce, Arena PLM, logistics providers, banking platforms, and other enterprise applications.
- Define integration architecture using middleware platforms where appropriate.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across the application ecosystem.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Work with NetSuite partners and consultants on implementation and delivery.
- Participate in solution design reviews and architectural decisions.
- Ensure partner-delivered work meets internal architecture and governance standards.
Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance and mentorship to ERP analysts and developers.
- Establish ERP governance standards around:
- Customization strategy
- Data architecture
- Security and permissions
- System performance and scalability
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for NetSuite across the organization.
Required Qualifications
- 10–12+ years of ERP experience with significant NetSuite expertise
- Proven experience designing or leading ERP implementations or major system transformations
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial systems and accounting processes
- Order-to-Cash
- Procure-to-Pay
- Supply Chain and Manufacturing workflows
- Experience designing integrations between ERP and enterprise platforms
- Ability to communicate technical architecture concepts to business stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- NetSuite OneWorld experience
- Experience integrating NetSuite with Salesforce
- NetSuite certifications (Administrator, SuiteCloud Developer, etc.)
- Experience working in a multi-system enterprise application environment
