The Role
As a Sustainability Manager focusing on expertise and delivery, you’ll manage complex projects and apply your deep subject matter expertise in chemicals alongside advanced consulting skills. You’ll provide strategic guidance to clients while ensuring project delivery is rigorous, insightful, actionable, and aligned with their objectives.
You’ll collaborate with peers, experienced consultants and junior colleagues, to deliver impactful work — primarily in your field of expertise, while occasionally contributing to broader projects. You’ll support business development by identifying opportunities, nurturing relationships with key accounts, and co-creating proposals.
You’ll also mentor junior colleagues and may progressively take on line management responsibilities to support their growth and development.

Are You Ready to Lead Sustainability Projects and Guide Teams?
- You’re eager to apply your sustainability experience, expertise and consulting capabilities to our mission of aligning businesses with planetary boundaries.
- You have 4-8+ years of work experience relevant to the role, with exposure to sustainability and/or consulting.
- You’re actively shaping your long-term path as an expert and provide subject matter expertise on Chemicals Industry topics, including but not limited to Basic (Commodity) Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, Agrochemicals and Petrochemicals.
- You have strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks relevant to your expertise area.
- You have proven experience in project management.
- You have solid knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- You bring at least a Master’s degree or higher in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering that equips you to guide companies to understand and design transformative and science-based strategy (Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, Economics...).
- You are intellectually curious, have a science-based mindset, and motivated to learn and grow.
- You’re motivated for teamwork and can coach, teach and mentor team members with your knowledge and skills.
- You’re confident using generative AI tools, while maintaining a critical and thoughtful mindset.
- You communicate effectively in fluent German (C1 or above is absolutely required) and English.
What You Might Also Bring to The Role
- Additional knowledge in further corporate sustainability topics other than your specific expertise.
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Footprinting
- Programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, ArcGIS) and motivation to develop them.
- Previous experience in one or several of the industries where Quantis’ major clients operate (https://quantis.com/industries).
When You Might Be Ready for The Next Step
As you manage projects and provide subject matter expertise, you’ll be ready to lead large teams to deliver complex projects, being the primary contact and trusted advisor for clients. Your next step will be Sustainability Principal, a role as a recognized expert in your field where you’ll play a major role in thought leadership and mentoring the next generation of consultants.
Some Other Details to Consider
- Location: Berlin, Germany is preferred, but working in Munich can be considered. You will be expected to work at the client’s office and/or to travel there at times.
- Optimal start date: As soon as possible
- Punctual collaboration with other Quantis branches via web-conference
- Ability to travel occasionally
