The project\: The sustainability support provide assistance to the head of sustainability in leading the project's sustainability agenda, facilitating collaboration with all the project directorate functions to identify and realise opportunities for the project to be more sustainable, efficient and innovative. The role holder will be required to provide support in the establishment of the sustainability function within the project directorate and will work cross functionally and with contractor(s) and consultants to help capture market leading sustainable solutions that are innovative and remain efficient throughout the project's lifecycle. The role holder shall assist in the establishment of the sustainability, efficiency and innovation performance metrics based on the stated objectives for the project using relevant global benchmarks and leading practice while also providing support in overseeing the design and implementation of the performance measurement framework to enable the project to achieve or outperform those targets.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Applying strong technical H&S expertise across project portfolios.
- Maintaining robust quality systems and oversee end‑to‑end project delivery.
- Supporting senior leaders with timely project outputs.
- Managing budgets, risks and sustainable business outcomes.
- Upholding Mace values and drive positive impact.
- Managing design, consultant and project teams collaboratively to meet KPIs.
- Innovating network and embed best practice using Mace knowledge platforms.
You’ll need to have:
- Degree‑qualified with extensive sustainability and efficiency experience on complex rail or infrastructure projects.
- Strong capability in lean methods, value management and driving high‑quality technical outputs.
- Proven stakeholder engagement, communication and consultancy experience.
- Professional sustainability or engineering certification, with strong commercial, environmental and carbon‑impact awareness.
