About the role
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join our Brisbane team. In this role, you will lead and contribute to a diverse range of environmental projects, applying your technical expertise and leadership to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients. You’ll play a key role in shaping project delivery, mentoring junior staff, and strengthening our presence in the region.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and contribute to the preparation of Environmental Impact Statements, environmental authority applications, and other environmental approvals.
- Provide expert environmental consulting advice to clients across various sectors.
- Write and review technical reports to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
- Develop fee proposals and manage projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Liaise with government agencies on behalf of AARC and our clients.
- Manage and review work from specialised sub-consultants.
- Mentor and support the training and development of junior team members.
- Contribute to business development initiatives and foster a positive team culture.
- Undertake site visits across Australasia and beyond, as required.
- Represent AARC’s values and culture in all professional interactions.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or a related field
- Strong project management capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to lead and deliver projects within time and budget constraints
- Full Australian working rights (mandatory)
- A valid Australian driver’s licence
- A collaborative, proactive approach with a strong commitment to quality and client service.
