Job Title: Solar Farm Operative (Norfolk Region)

Full, Clean Driving License
Required Experience:
- Familiarity with Solar PV
- Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Reporting software
- General Labouring / Building / Mechanical experience / Ground
Purpose of the Solar Farm Operative:
The Solar Farm Operative will attend customers' sites, and warehouses on a day-to-day basis assisting with maintenance activities at various solar PV systems. These PV systems are mainly ground mounted PV systems. The Solar Farm Operative will assist the Field Service Engineers when carrying out maintenance on installations. Candidates who are keen to achieve an electrical qualification are welcome.
Health and Safety also plays a significant part in this role with responsibilities including following company and site-specific method statements and risk assessments whilst ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with industry best practices, industry best safety practices, company and owner procedures, plans, and guidelines as well as all pertinent laws and regulations/standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for assisting Field Service Engineers with routine maintenance, testing, and remedial works on deployed solar PV systems
- Responsible for managing warehouse stock and reporting stock levels through the CMMS or manual reports as applicable
- Carry out multiple material collections and deliveries
- Assisting Field Service Engineers with Corrective Maintenance as occur
- Produce reports detailing on site activities through the automated online platform
- Report all H&S incidents and near misses to line manager
- Occasional ground maintenance works
- Mechanical installations / non technical planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and remedial works
- Alert the line manager of any issues
- Maintain data security and confidentiality by using information within the parameters of the job role, any applicable SLAs, the company data policies and / or privacy notices and the statutory guidelines set out within the GDPR and any associated UK legislation. Pay particular regard to any data that is generated by CCTV or that may be classified as personal data.
- Comply with all required fire, health and safety requirements for the environment in which you are working, including making yourself aware of the current applicable policies and risk assessments and acting accordingly, and attending any required training. In particular to adhere to bio security, health and safety and confined spaces protocols.
- Responsible for complying with BOL procedures
- Any other reasonable task as requested by a Manager, Partner or Director of the business
Interactions within Bluefield
- Provide information to line manager (RM/O&MM) daily for reporting as requested
- Obtain information from line manager (RM/O&MM) weekly for shift and planned intervention
Job Locations
This role is field based within the Norfolk region and you are routinely required to work on company sites within the that region. You may be required to stay away overnight for periods of time until jobs are completed.
Hours of Work:
This role is primarily Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17.30pm in Winter 1st October – 31st March and 08:00- 17.30pm in summer 1st April-30th September. There may a requirement for occasional out of hours work as and when required.
You may occasionally be required to stay away overnight for periods of time if there is a requirement at a client site for an operative to be available over more than one day at a location not local to your area.
