What awaits you/ Job Profile | At BMWTechWorks India, you will be part of the innovative Cluster Digital Product Engineering, driving the development of vital components for BMW’s next-generation electric vehicles. As a Design Engineer in our CAD Unit, you will focus on the development of subcomponents for the Gen6 WE HV battery cell contact system (CCS). Your role involves close collaboration with the simulation department and managing the entire design process—from initial 3D modeling to final technical drawings. You will coordinate technical aspects with various BMW specialist departments, bringing your expertise to component design, their interactions, and manufacturing processes. As the technical expert, you will support supplier negotiations, evaluate change requests, and identify opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining the highest quality standards. Your contribution ensures that projects meet all milestones and components are ready for system approvals on schedule. Must have technical skill | - Proficient in CAD, especially CATIA V5/3D, for 2D and 3D construction including array and subcomponents, board outlines, folding/bending, panelization, and technical drawing.
- Knowledge of DIN ISO 16742 (plastic molding) and DIN ISO 2768 (metal punching) standards.
- Experience with high-voltage battery systems, including air and creepage requirements.
- Familiarity with FMK (Functional Tolerance Chain Analysis) to ensure component precision and function.
