This Opportunity
Footprint is looking to grow our Sustainability team with the addition of a Sustainability Project Manager. Working closely with senior team members, you will be responsible for managing all phases of green building design, including energy modelling and certification to the LEED Green Building Rating Systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing multiple tasks while collaborating with internal and external teams. Their technical expertise in sustainable building design, materials, and life cycle analysis will support our mission of creating healthier, more sustainable spaces.

What You'll Do
- Lead sustainability projects from proposal through certification and close-out, taking ownership of scope, schedule, deliverables, and client communication.
- Develop and monitor detailed project workplans, including task schedules, resource allocation, and anticipated hours.
- Manage project budgets and monitor scope to identify and address scope changes or additional service requirements.
- Act as primary sustainability contact for clients, leading meetings, workshops, and integrated design sessions.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and external consultants to ensure sustainability strategies are fully integrated across disciplines.
- Conduct and oversee Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and embodied carbon analyses using recognized tools.
- Interpret technical results and translate findings into practical design recommendations.
- Lead sustainability certification processes (LEED, WELL, Fitwel, Zero Carbon, etc.) from pre-design through construction completion.
- Prepare, review, and submit certification documentation and technical reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Develop sustainability strategies addressing energy performance, indoor environmental quality, water management, and material impacts.
- Identify and resolve scope gaps related to sustainability requirements across project disciplines.
- Support proposal development, fee scoping, and business development activities.
- Mentor and supervise junior team members, reviewing delegated work for quality and alignment with project scope.
- Support and train junior staff and provide them assignments, supervising delegated tasks for content and completion in assigned hours.
- Lead sustainability projects from proposal through close-out, taking full ownership of scope, schedule, deliverables, and client communication.
Who You Are
- Possess 5+ years of experience delivering sustainability consulting services within multidisciplinary design teams.
- Hold LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) with specialty designation.
- Demonstrated experience managing sustainability projects, including LEED certification and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) delivery.
- Strong working knowledge of sustainable building rating systems, embodied carbon analysis, and LCA methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead projects involving multiple stakeholders, with responsibility for scope, schedule, and budget management.
- Experience preparing and reviewing documentation for certification submissions.
- Demonstrated experience using LCA tools (e.g., OneClick LCA, Athena, Tally or similar).
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience leading client meetings and workshops.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.
- Eligible to obtain Federal Government security clearance.
- Additional sustainability credentials (WELL AP, Fitwel, Zero Carbon, etc.) and professional designation (P.Eng., CET) or eligibility considered an asset.
