Join the power movement as Director, Supply Chain - Indirect
The Director, Supply Chain - Indirect at CFS is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of our indirect category strategy. This role also leads the Contracts Center of Excellence and the Supply Chain Systems analyst team.
Key responsibilities include managing a diverse vendor base to maximize value, leveraging forecasts to drive sourcing activities, and overseeing the end-to-end procurement process—including PO creation, RFI/RFQ/RFP processes, and invoice resolution. The Director will lead supplier negotiations, identify cost savings, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business requirements. Additionally, this role serves as the primary driver for supply chain process analytics and manages the relationship with the ERP/IT team to support company goals.
Travel to supplier locations and our headquarters in Devens, MA will be required as needed.

What you'll do:- Build and manage the indirect procurement organization in support of facility, software, consulting, and construction activities
- Manage the indirect purchasing process for goods and services from suppliers in support of internal customer requirements
- Develop and optimize purchasing business processes including credit card management, purchase order approvals, contract management, and others
- Lead sourcing and category based initiatives to identify and select best value suppliers and mitigate risk
- Prepare and execute negotiations for contracts and agreements, coordinating with legal counsel where necessary to finalize contracts and statements of work
- Adhere to all supply chain policies, procedures, guidelines and instructions including those regarding the procurement of materials, intellectual property, and export compliance
- Provide constant, clear, and timely updates to internal customers
- Manage organizational effectiveness through continuous improvement and functional transformation
- Relentlessly gather intelligence on the health of strategic suppliers’ business and informs Sr. Leadership of long-term risk and proposed countermeasures
- Conduct periodic supplier business reviews to communicate supplier performance to internal and supplier management teams
- Conduct site surveys and business evaluations of existing and potential suppliers
- Serve as a point of escalation and resolution of corrective actions with suppliers
- Contribute to the resolution of sourcing issues from CFS or their sub-tiers
What we’re looking for:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 15+ years experience managing supply chains in raw materials, metals, machined components, welding and fabrication, and/or contracted assemblies
- High finance acumen to be able to understand a company's financial structure and strategize contract incentives
- Extensive technical knowledge of contracting for long lead time items based on project milestones
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with a proven ability to drive complex projects
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
- Generate work plans, define milestones, and help define processes that impact direct work.
- Ability to map out and understand complex interconnected systems
- Maintain a high attention to detail across a multitude of systems, ensuring comprehensive analysis and the identification of any gaps in quality or detail
- Reliable and persistent work ethic, seeing tasks through to completion. Stays determined in the face of uncertainty and setbacks
- Ability to identify the right level of detail for a given task and the flexibility to adapt to modeling both rough, quick estimates for establishing development priorities
- Ability to adapt to a start-up environment, capability to take initiative, develop own tasks and timelines, and solve broad, ambiguous problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to consistently produce high-quality materials suitable for a broad external audience
- Strong organizational abilities to manage various cases and scenarios
- Must be able to travel as needed to remote sites

$170,000 - $250,000 a year
Salary range for this full-time position + equity + benefits. The actual salary will depend on level, location, qualifications, and experience. The range displayed on each job posting reflects new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Benefits include:
