Required Education/Experience/Skills:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2- 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or in a closely related area
- Proficient with one of more of the following CFD software tools: Ansys Fluent, Star CCM+, or equivalent CFD software
- Excellent technical writing skills including the ability to use data to draw conclusions with supporting rationale and make recommendations. Must be able support the conclusions when challenged
- Excellent communication presentation, interpersonal, and collaborative skills
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
- Experience with the following software: Aspen, SINDA/Fluint, Thermal Desktop, FloCad
- Experience with dynamic chemical process simulation
- Capable of developing simulation models of air and water purification processes at varying levels of fidelity ranging from detailed, first-principle models to more descriptive lumped-parameter models
- Programming knowledge in one or more of the following: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, FORTRAN, C, Visual Basic
- Experience with chemical processes associated with NASA life support systems
Essential Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation

- Work may involve sitting for extended periods
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
- Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary

- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere
- Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
- This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
