POSITION OVERVIEW
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities within a steel manufacturing facility. This role ensures plant equipment, utilities, and infrastructure operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while supporting production goals and the company’s broader renewable energy and sustainability objectives. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, oversees daily maintenance execution, and partners closely with Production, Engineering, and Environmental Health & Safety teams.
Location: Sealy, Texas (On-Site)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities for production equipment, utilities, and facility systems, prioritizing and assigning work orders to ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is completed safely and on schedule.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians through training, skill development, and performance feedback.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental and sustainability standards aligned with the organization’s solar and renewable energy operations.
- Partner closely with Production to minimize downtime and support safe, reliable plant operations, including contractor coordination and third-party work.
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs, track KPIs and equipment history in the CMMS, and support capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, energy efficiency, and cost control.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment (steel or metals manufacturing strongly preferred).
- Prior experience in a lead, senior technician, or supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems, including motors, drives, conveyors, hydraulics, and PLC-controlled equipment.
- Experience working with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting facilities with energy efficiency, sustainability, or renewable-energy-aligned initiatives.
- Familiarity with steel manufacturing processes such as rolling, forming, cutting, or finishing operations.
- Experience supporting capital projects and equipment commissioning.
