Core responsibilities
• Governance & Strategy
- Establish and maintain Data Platform environment and release management strategy, aligning to the ASX Delivery
Framework and approved Target Architectures.
- Embed governance, controls, and service functions ensuring non-production environments and release pipelines meet
organizational standards for stability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, Platform, and Program teams to ensure a consistent approach to provisioning,
deployment, and change control.
• Environment Management
- Create and maintain processes for managing, building, provisioning, and decommissioning environments.
- Govern environment configurations, refreshes, and integrations across development, testing, and production-like
landscapes.
- Proactively identify risks and issues across environments and implement controls to improve reliability and consistency.
- Partner with Lines of Business and delivery teams to ensure environment readiness and capacity for key delivery
milestones.
- Ensure environmental problems and incidents are managed and resolved through structured processes and continuous
improvement.
• Release Management
- Strategically plan, coordinate, and manage release deliverables across multiple programs within the Data Platform,
leveraging agile and CI/CD practices.
- Define, communicate, and oversee release schedules, deployment readiness, and cut-over planning.
- Maintain visibility of release scope, dependencies, and quality to ensure integrity of production deployments.
- Drive continuous improvement of release and deployment processes, adopting automation tools and release-as-code
practices.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure releases meet technical and business readiness criteria prior to
deployment.
• Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide strong people leadership — mentoring and developing team members while fostering collaboration and
innovation.
- Act as the key liaison between Technology, Platform Engineering, Data, Integration, Digital, and Business stakeholders.
- Contribute to delivery excellence by ensuring integrated release and environment planning across programs and Lines
of Business.
- Present insights, metrics, and recommendations to senior stakeholders to guide planning and decision-making.
- Champion ASX values of integrity, excellence, and teamwork through transparent communication and proactive
leadership.
Your experience and qualifications
Skills Required:
Environment & Release Governance – Defines and maintains enterprise policies, standards, and controls for environment
provisioning and release orchestration. Monitors adherence across teams and ensures alignment with delivery and
architectural frameworks.
Change Control & Risk Management – Leads assessment, documentation, and implementation of complex changes.
Evaluates proposed changes for risk and integrity across environments and releases. Ensures appropriate change
approvals and rollback mechanisms.
Configuration Management – Implements secure and auditable configuration processes, ensuring environments and
releases maintain consistent baselines. Manages tools and automation for tracking, logging, and reporting environment
states.
Systems & Software Lifecycle Deployment – Establishes practices for deploying and operating systems securely and
efficiently. Selects lifecycle tools and automation to optimize software delivery and operational readiness.
Service Acceptance & Continuous Delivery – Works with DevOps and delivery teams to ensure all release outputs meet
agreed service acceptance and readiness criteria. Evaluates performance against SLAs and improvement targets.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management – Acts as a single point of contact for environment and release governance.
Builds strong partnerships across Lines of Business, providing clear communication, expectation management, and
outcome-driven collaboration.
People Leadership & Performance Management – Develops objectives, coaches teams, and provides feedback aligned
to organizational goals. Fosters skill uplift in DevOps, automation, and environment management. Encourages innovation
and accountabilities
Experience & Qualification:
Minimum of 8+ years’ experience across Test Environment Management, Release Management, and Continuous
Delivery enablement within large, regulated environments (preferably financial services).
Proven experience managing end-to-end non-production environments, including provisioning, governance, and decommissioning.
Strong expertise in release planning, orchestration, and CI/CD pipeline integration across on-prem and cloud workloads.
Demonstrated capability in establishing enterprise-wide governance for environments, releases, and change control.
Solid understanding of AWS Cloud, Data Platform, and DevOps practices.
Experience leading teams and influencing senior stakeholders across multiple Lines of Business.
Comfortable presenting to executives and contributing to strategic decision-making.
Nice to have
Experience with automated environment provisioning, container orchestration (EKS/Fargate), and Infrastructure-as-Code.
Familiarity with tools such as GitLab, Confluence, JIRA, Xray, Broadcom TDM, or ServiceNow.
Strong sense of ownership, customer focus, and integrity demonstrated through proactive leadership and continuous improvement.
