Who are we looking for?
We're looking for an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Approvals team in Sydney.
You’ll work alongside our technical directors and specialist teams, and be a key contributor to multidisciplinary projects, supporting approval strategies, and providing advice to clients for major infrastructure, future energy, water, transport, resources, and urban development projects.
You will primarily focus on Approvals, but will also be involved in Impact Assessment and Planning, and you’ll be a valued member of our globally connected, multi-disciplinary team, with access to leading technical specialists, designers and project delivery experts across Australia and the APAC region.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Supporting environmental approvals processes on landmark projects for public and private sector clients across the Sydney and NSW regions
- Contributing to the development of approvals strategies that balance regulatory requirements, project timelines, and stakeholder expectations
- Working closely with clients, project partners and regulators, providing advice on environmental risk, compliance pathways, and project feasibility
- Mentoring junior consultants and contributing to capability development within the team
What you will bring to the team:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a similar consulting or government role.
- A sound understanding of NSW and federal environmental legislation.
- Outstanding time and project management abilities, with the capability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Exceptional communication skills in writing, speaking, and engaging with stakeholders.
