Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for an Environmental Specialist Trainee to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include planning, inspection, monitoring, compliance reporting, client interaction, and personnel management for the recycling and stormwater inspection/maintenance projects at BWI and Martin State Airports as well as providing support to other environmental projects, as needed.
This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.
Estimated Pay Range:
45,666.23 - 62,791.65

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, ecology, or related field from an accredited college or university. Must have the ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance. Must be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment physical exam. Must be able to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Must have a valid license with less than 5 points.
The preferred candidate will have experience with environmental compliance, environmental mitigation and remediation, and/or recycling & sustainability programs as well as working within a dynamic, high demand environment.
