Mechanical Project Manager – Solar
Reports to: Sr VP of Construction
Are you an experienced construction leader with a strong background in solar installation? We are seeking a driven Mechanical Project Manager to lead field teams and oversee the mechanical installation of solar projects from preconstruction through commissioning.
This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive performance, ensure quality, and build strong client relationships while delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage field teams installing racking systems, trackers, modules, and foundations.
- Oversee projects from kickoff through closeout and commissioning.
- Manage schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Review drawings and specifications to ensure constructability.
- Monitor safety, production, and quality through regular site visits.
- Resolve field challenges in real time and keep projects moving forward.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of construction project management experience (solar preferred).
- Strong knowledge of solar racking and mechanical installation practices.
- Experience managing subcontractors and field crews.
- Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, etc.).
- OSHA 30 preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
