ABOUT THE LAND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Land Development Agency (LDA) is the State’s affordable housing delivery body. Its main role is to acquire and develop State and other land to deliver affordable homes, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent Board of Directors and has total capitalisation of up to €8.75bn. To date €6.25 billion of equity capital has been committed by Government and a further €2.5bn capitalisation is permitted under legislation from other sources/debt.
The LDA is active on more than 20 State Land sites and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 25,000 homes. The Agency also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under its Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Role Summary
This is a newly created role within an expanding team, offering a unique opportunity to influence how sustainability is embedded across the Asset Management function, with a particular focus on residential operations. The role will ensure that sustainability and social impact principles are integrated throughout Asset Management activities, with a strong focus on tenant well-being, positive community outcomes, and the long-term sustainable management of assets.
Reporting to the Strategic Projects and Sustainability Lead, the successful candidate will also have responsibility for Asset Management’s sustainability and ESG reporting, including social impact measurement. This will involve establishing robust processes for the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data and metrics to support the LDA’s wider reporting requirements and inform strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability and social impact and motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the long-term delivery of high-quality, sustainable housing. They will have an understanding of sustainability principles, particularly as they relate to asset management, housing, or the built environment, and will be comfortable working with data to demonstrate impact and performance. They will also be able to demonstrate an ability to link principles to operational outcomes and delivery appropriate solutions which support Asset Management objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and deliver sustainability and ESG reporting data and metrics for the Asset Management team, ensuring data quality, consistency and alignment with relevant standards and reporting obligations.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to collect, validate and analyse sustainability data.
- Support organisational sustainability reporting requirements, acting as a sustainability liaison across departments, helping embed sustainability principles into everyday Asset Management practices
- Support internal Asset Management engagement and awareness by developing reporting tools, dashboards, guidance notes and presentations (as required).
- Identify and shape sustainability initiatives and, in collaboration with colleagues, lead projects from initial concept through to successful delivery.
- Contribute to pilot projects, research initiatives, and continuous improvement activities that enhance environmental performance, social outcomes, and long-term asset resilience.
- Support the development and tracking of social impact indicators, including community engagement, tenant wellbeing, and social value creation.
- Development of relevant policies and procedures.
- Maintain documentation regarding projects, processes and operations.
- Monitor emerging best practice, sustainability regulations and standards specific to the sector, and assess any potential impacts on reporting requirements.
- As this is a newly created role, the scope of responsibilities will evolve as the Sustainability function grows and expands.

Requirements:
- A relevant qualification in sustainability, environmental management, real estate, housing, data analysis, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role in the areas of sustainability, asset management, housing, or the built environment.
- Knowledge of ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks and an understanding of social impact measurement, particularly in the context of housing or community development.
