Job Position Summary:<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/u>
<\/span><\/div>Responsible for planning, implementing and operation of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) System according to national and international regulations and best practices.<\/span>
<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Develop strategies to ensure continuous improvement of Safety, <\/span><\/span><\/span>employee injury prevention, OSHA compliance program to support Safety Management System (SMS).<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/u><\/b>
<\/span><\/div>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>Ensure the EHS Policies and objectives are set and achieved by application of strategic decisions.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Promote a culture of customer focus and performance management to ensure high quality and continuous improvement in service delivery.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>Design EHS strategies to reduce illness, environmental accidents that may affect employee and provide <\/span><\/span><\/span>stakeholders with a safe and healthful workplace.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Models and promotes an organizational culture that fosters safety practices through effective implementation of EHS management system.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Prevent injury and ill health by continuously improving our EHS programs through evaluation, review and implementation of appropriate corrective and preventive actions.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Reduce or minimize the generation of waste to the extent feasible through source reduction or cost -effective recycling.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Advises management on government regulations relating to OHSE and recommends necessary action to ensure compliance.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Develop and maintain Akas Air EHS document to ensure regular, effective communication between EHS and departments/employees.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Monitor and Identify potential EHS concerns & Hazards and recommend suitable mitigating actions.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Design and deliver EHS training programs to provide awareness to all employees.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li><\/span><\/span><\/span>Investigate EHS accidents/incidents/hazards and recommend the corrective and preventive action.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>

Desired Qualifications/Certifications:<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>
<\/span><\/span><\/div>

<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of OHSE.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>NEBOSH or equivalent Industry accepted certification.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>Knowledge of ISO 14001Environment & 18001 OHSAS<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>Auditor qualifications and experience.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>Knowledge about the Airline Emergency Response<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Preferred Work Experience:<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/u> <\/span><\/span>3 Years’ experience in Safety/Quality Assurance/OHSE<\/span><\/span><\/span>
