What’s the role?
The Senior Associate, Sustainability reviews sustainability risks for institutional bank customers, and ensures compliance with Westpac’s sustainability requirements. This role supports the integration of sustainability into frontline practices and the management of non‑financial risk.
As part of the Risk & Transaction stream, you will perform sustainability due diligence on higher‑risk customers, assess transactions that impact our financed‑emissions targets and support portfolio climate risk reviews. You will partner with WIB bankers, second line Risk functions, and Group teams to deliver on Westpac’s sustainability values.
What do I need?
- 2-4 years’ experience in transaction screening or customer due diligence in banking, financial services or consulting.
- Demonstrated interest, knowledge or experience with sustainability themes, responsible lending or responsible investment.
- Commercial acumen, analytical skills, comfort with data & digital tools (incl. AI), and concise writing.
- Ability to engage stakeholders and translate complex or subjective topics clearly, with well‑reasoned rationale.
