Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service (MES) has an opening for an Environmental Specialist Trainee/ Environmental Specialist to join the Technical and Environmental Services Group at our Headquarters located in Millersville, MD. Responsibilities include lab coordination, sample receiving, compliance report review, and occasional sampling. The position consists primarily of office work. There will be occasional field work and this requires the ability to perform confined space entry and lift 50 pounds.
Estimated Pay Range:
Environmental Specialist Trainee: $45,666.23 - $62,791.65
Environmental Specialist: $50,233.92 - $69,070.88

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum education requirements for each position include a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, ecology or a related field from an accredited college or university plus:
Environmental Specialist Trainee: No additional experience is required.
Environmental Specialist: One year of experience in chemistry, environmental science, regulations, or compliance.
Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points.
The preferred candidate should have the ability to multitask under time sensitive deadlines, have a proficient understanding of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel, understanding of chemical analysis process and units, experience with environmental compliance, as well as working within a dynamic, high demand environment.

The Environmental Specialist Trainee position is eligible for on-spot, contingent offers.
