Who We Are Looking For:
Phoenix Tailings is looking for a Director of Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives across commercial partnerships, government engagement, and long-term customer relationships. This role is highly external-facing and will play a critical role in shaping how Phoenix brings clean, domestic critical metals to market. You will work closely with executive leadership to identify opportunities, structure partnerships, and convert strategic interest into long-term commercial value.
This pay range reflects the expected compensation for this role and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
Salary Range: $140,000-$200,000

Key Responsibilities:- Lead business development strategy across commercial, strategic, and government-aligned partnerships
- Identify, evaluate, and pursue new revenue opportunities aligned with Phoenix Tailings’ growth and expansion plans
- Build and manage relationships with customers, strategic partners, and key external stakeholders
- Structure and negotiate commercial agreements that support long-term supply, offtake, and strategic collaboration
- Represent Phoenix Tailings externally with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders
- Develop market intelligence and competitive insights to inform pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategy
- Work closely with internal teams to translate commercial commitments into executable operational plans
Qualifications:- 8+ years of experience in business development, commercial strategy, or strategic partnerships
- Proven track record of originating and closing complex commercial or strategic agreements
- Experience working with industrial, energy, materials, infrastructure, or government-adjacent markets
- Strong ability to build credibility and trust with senior external stakeholders
- Experience negotiating and structuring long-term commercial contracts
- Strong strategic judgment paired with a bias toward execution
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
