Our reputable Industrial Battery Industry client is seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join their team in Witbank.
Purpose of the job:
Responsible for the delivery of goods to and from customers and suppliers where appropriate. Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of fleet vehicles and ensuring that all laid-down procedures and responsibilities are adhered to. To always portray and uphold the image of the company.
Requirements:
• Matric
• Valid Driver’s License – Code 10 + PDP
• Valid Hazchem Certificate
• Minimum 5 years related driving experience
• Good organizational skills
• Good communication skills
• Knowledge of dispatch material handling
• Knowledge of batteries
• Attention to detail
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy batteries
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure vehicles are Hazchem compliant according to legislation
• Comply with the rules of the road at all times (driver liable for fines/infringements)
• Ensure vehicles are clean and maintained inside and out
• Complete daily vehicle inspections
• Monitor and manage fuel usage responsibly
• Do not deviate from routes unless authorized by management
• Advise management in advance of vehicle service requirements
• Act as a professional representative of the company at all times
• Verify quantities against picking slips and invoices before signing documentation
• Do not depart without correct trip schedules, invoices, and delivery notes
• Ensure all delivery documentation is completed and signed by customers
• Manage battery returns, credits, and claims documentation accurately
• Never leave loaded vehicles unattended
• Ensure all documents are returned to the relevant department
• Comply with all health and safety regulations
• Ensure vehicles are never overloaded
• Use all issued safety equipment and uniforms at all times
