Job Summary
Responsible for technical assessment, developing technical documents, reviewing technical design, coordinating with stakeholders and implementing battery energy storage systems (BESS) and solar photovoltaic (PV) projects within APAC region. This role involves a deep understanding of BESS system & technologies, electrical engineering, PV solar system & technologies, stakeholders’ engagement and project management. You will report to the EPC Engineering Manager APAC.
Job Description
- Supports the engineering team in all stages for projects i.e., development, tendering, realization, testing & commissioning and towards the End of asset life cycle covering BESS.
- Supporting in assessment of site topography, potential constraints, main BESS electrical components sizing and selection of suitable technology for BESS green field development (including Standalone or Hybrid BESS).
- Prepare and review of tendering specifications, employer requirements, technical specifications and engineering design packages for BESS components.
- Review and evaluation of BESS/PV and hybrid simulation, modelling, analysis, calculation, tender documents, technical requirements and cost element.
- Review of BESS & solar PV components i.e., single line diagrams up to MV and coordinating with grid team for HV specifications matters.
- Evaluation of climate data sources and preparation of energy yield simulations (PVsyst) to provide key project performance indicators for commercial project optimization. Perform comparison and provide recommendation to optimize the PVsyst simulation by bidders
- Design/assessment of BESS systems, including sizing components, selecting equipment, and developing system schematics, system integration plans, considering factors like grid connection, power electronics, and control systems.
- Conduct BESS technical analysis, including load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
- Participating in technical discussions and negotiations with EPC, suppliers and technical advisors related to BESS projects/components.
- Participating in site visits related to BESS and as required by management.
