THE ROLE
As the Client Manager, you will be at the helm of a dynamic, international portfolio of solar assets. This is a pivotal leadership role where your primary mission is to oversee and coordinate the efforts of talented professionals across regions, ensuring every asset under management delivers on its promise of commercial success and operational excellence.
Rather than being involved in the day-to-day details, you will set the vision, orchestrate collaboration, and ensure alignment between client priorities and delivery teams. Your influence will be felt in every corner of the organisation as you champion innovation, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture where high performance and accountability thrive.
Reporting to the Managing Director Client Management, you will be the key connector, bringing together people, processes, and purpose to maximise value for clients and stakeholders, and to advance the organisation’s mission in the global renewable energy landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership & Performance
- Set fund-level and country-level asset strategies, ensuring client and fund priorities are translated into actionable plans by delivery teams.
- Oversee the achievement of agreed KPIs for asset and fund performance
- Provide oversight and guidance for the onboarding of new assets, ensuring integration into the fund’s portfolio and compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the portfolio’s exit is managed strategically, with all actionable items to increase asset value implemented by relevant teams.
- Champion and communicate the value and impact of WiseEnergy’s work both within WiseEnergy and with our clients
- Champion and promote continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency through effective coordination and leadership, and the adoption of best practices by operational teams.
- Lead and coordinate regional asset management teams, instilling a high-performance culture and holding teams accountable for results
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain exceptional relationships with key fund stakeholders, clients, and partners, both internally (WiseEnergy, NextEnergy Group) and externally.
- Serve as the escalation point for client issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution by the appropriate teams.
- Lead regular client meetings, synthesise feedback, and coordinate ongoing service improvement initiatives.
- Represent the fund in external forums, promoting the organisation’s mission and values.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Technical, Commercial, Finance and PDT teams to align workstreams and support fund objectives.
- Drive knowledge sharing and best practice adoption across regions and departments, ensuring operational teams are aligned.
- Oversee ESG compliance and delivery, championing sustainability and responsible asset management at a strategic level.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Oversee revenue accruals, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the fund’s portfolio, ensuring these activities are executed by the relevant teams.
- Provide oversight for contract renewals, tendering, and dispute resolution processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage relationships with advisors and external stakeholders at a strategic level.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Time management & prioritisation skills - things can get a little hectic, so the ability to effectively manage yourself and your workload is critical
- Excellent communication skills (in English or/and other European languages) - you must be able to organise your thoughts in a way that others find clear and compelling. You will be expected to craft well-written, grammatically correct emails and other communications. When communicating verbally – whether over the phone, on video calls, in person or in meetings – you will need to be articulate, warm and engaging.
- Flexibility - being an effective team player means being flexible in your approach and open to getting involved with new things, even if they are not spelt out in your job description.
- Intellectual Curiosity – We are looking for someone who is truly interested in our profession and has the intellectual curiosity to delve deep into topics and bring fresh ideas to the team.
- IT Literacy - you should have an interest in technology, including AI and show the aptitude to bring this into your role and the projects you are accountable for delivering. You do not need to be a technologist yourself, but you must be technically literate and curious about the possibilities that technology
- Delivery focus – it may sound obvious, but the ability to proactively churn through work at pace and deliver quality outputs matters

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- +8 years’ experience in solar asset management or a related field, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing large, international portfolios.
- Senior-level expertise in commercial, contractual, and regulatory aspects of asset management.
- Strong understanding of regional and global nuances in solar asset management, including O&M, compliance, and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-value client relationships and lead cross-functional teams.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with asset management platforms and data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- The right to work in the UK.
