Business Development Director | North American Renewables
Ready to help scale the future of clean energy?
North American Renewables (NAR) is a fast-growing renewable energy EPC firm - and the sister company to Professional Electrical Contractors of CT (PEC). Officially launched as a standalone company in 2024, we're in build mode - expanding fast, winning meaningful work, and doing it the right way.
We don't chase volume, we chase quality, long-term partnerships, and projects we're proud to put our name on. From solar and storage to engineering, manufacturing, and O&M - NAR is creating a vertically integrated platform built to support the next generation of renewable infrastructure across the Northeast (and beyond).
If you like momentum, ownership, and seeing your hard work turn into high quality projects that set the standard in the industry - you'll feel right at home here.
The Role
We're looking for a Sales Director who thrives in growth mode.
This is not a "maintain the status quo" role. This is a build-it, scale-it, own-it opportunity for someone who loves opening doors, building real relationships, and turning conversations into executed contracts. You'll be a key driver of NAR's expansion - helping shape strategy, deepen partnerships, and close complex renewable energy deals across multiple service lines. If you get fired up by collaboration, autonomy, and watching a company grow around the work you bring in - this role was built with you in mind.
What You'll Be Selling
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M):
- Annual and Bi-Annual Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Services, Testing & Commissioning, Troubleshooting, System Decommissioning, and Special Projects.
- Electrical Manufacturing / Prefabrication:
- In house factory-built (in the USA) electrical components that reduce field labor, improve quality, support aggressive schedules, and meet the ever-growing importance of the continuous construction requirements for project safe harbor purposes.
- PV and BESS Design and drafting: site planning, system performance modeling, and interconnection study support
- Professional electrical engineering services: electrical construction plans, SLDs, power systems studies, arc flash studies, and owner's engineering services
- Professional civil engineering services: site diligence, permitting coordination, conceptual plan through final construction plan preparation, hydrology reports, earthwork studies, SWPPP preparation, and owners engineering services
- These services can be provided as standalone scopes or as a full "wrap" for developers and IPPs to construct a commercial/industrial PV or PV+BESS project
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities
- Lead the full sales cycle - from first call to signed contracts and beyond
- Develop pricing strategies, scopes of work, and winning proposals
- Maintain accurate CRM activity and pipeline forecasting (HubSpot)
- Build long-term relationships with IPPs, developers, EPCs, and asset owners
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, and Executive Leadership
- Represent NAR at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities
Ideal Candidate
- Has 5–10 years of experience in renewable energy sales or business development
- Has a proven track record of meeting (and beating) sales targets
- Understands EPC, engineering, electrical, mechanical, or O&M services
- Communicates clearly, negotiates confidently, and builds trust naturally
- Thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
- Enjoys getting out in front of customers and traveling for key events
Why NAR
- Established renewable energy customer base as a foundation to growing your pipeline, with a strong industry reputation
- Multiple service lines = more ways to win work and establish the account
- Entrepreneurial environment with real ownership and influence
- Competitive compensation + performance-based incentives
- Full benefits package and ongoing professional development
Location: Flexible – Hybrid or Remote, by candidate (Canton, MA is our Headquarters)
Travel: As needed for clients and conferences
