Education:
B.Tech in Civil Engineering / M.Tech in Structural Engineering
Experience:
7–9 years of experience in Design and Detailing of Civil & Structural Works for Wind Power Projects, Balance of Plant (BOP), Infrastructure Works, Construction Industry, or Oil & Gas sector. Experience in WTG foundations and wind farm infrastructure is mandatory.
Objective
The Design Engineer shall be capable of handling complete design and detailed engineering for Wind Power Projects, including onshore wind farms of varying capacities. This includes WTG foundations, crane hardstands, internal roads, drainage, substation/control room buildings, and other wind farm infrastructure.
The Design Engineer shall review and coordinate all civil & structural design documents and drawings, ensuring seamless integration with other disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical, Geotechnical, and Survey teams.
The role requires working closely with a team of draftsmen to deliver engineering outputs within budget, on schedule, and with high engineering quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Allocation of work to Draftsmen and monitoring deliverables
• Analysis, design, and detailing of Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) foundations (gravity, piled, rock-anchored, hybrid foundations as applicable)
• Design and detailing of crane hardstands, access roads, internal roads, culverts, drainage systems, and platforms
• Design and detailing of control room buildings, substation buildings, and auxiliary RCC/steel structures
• Design and detailing of equipment foundations (transformers, GIS/AIS equipment, HT panels, outdoor structures)
• Review of geotechnical investigation reports and incorporation into foundation design
• Preparation and submission of design calculations, drawings, and documents for client/consultant approval
• Awareness and application of Indian and International design standards relevant to wind projects
• Coordination with Site Execution Teams and Clients to resolve design and constructability issues
• Checking BOQs and material quantities with reference to previous wind projects
• Preparation of DBR (Design Basis Report) and scope of work for Project Engineering
• Interaction with Clients for drawing approvals and technical clarifications
• Interaction with Site Teams for resolving drawing-related queries
• Interaction with SCM for vendor queries, technical clarifications, and material approvals
• Review of Vendor Engineering Documents related to civil & structural works
• Site visits as and when required to support engineering and resolve field issues
Technical Expertise
The Design Engineer shall be capable of executing civil & structural engineering activities covering:
• WTG foundations (various foundation concepts)
• Wind farm Balance of Plant (BOP) works
• RCC and steel control room / substation buildings
• Transformer and outdoor equipment foundations
• Internal roads, crane paths, drainage, culverts, and grading
• Outdoor steel structures and miscellaneous wind farm infrastructure works
The Engineer shall be competent in reviewing OEM and Vendor design documents related to civil & structural engineering for wind projects.
