Part of the Fitch Group (owned by Hearst), Sustainable Fitch provides the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)-focused financial community with tools, data, research and insights relating to ESG debt instruments.
This intern will be part of the Neurodiversity@Hearst program, a paid, full-time 15-week internship program for neurodivergent/autistic talent interested in enhancing their technical skills. From June 2nd – September 11th, 2026, interns will participate in an immersive, hands-on experience at a leading global, diversified media, information, and services company. This cohort will include interns at Hearst Television, Fitch Group, Hearst Magazines and Hearst Corporate. The reasonable estimate for this position is $30-35USD/hour. This is a hybrid role that includes a mixture of remote and in-person work. The manager is based in Toronto. Candidates should be located in either New York, NY or Toronto, Canada so time zone and in-person needs can be supported.

What You’ll Do
- Conduct ESG assessments using AI-powered tools
- Help test and scale new approaches for evaluating sustainability impact
- Assist with collecting, cleaning, and organizing data for ESG evaluations
- Modify or run scripts in Python or R to automate tasks or check data quality
- Review AI-generated ESG outputs to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Collaborate with ESG analysts and tech teams to align models with goals, with support of your manager
- Keep documentation up to date using platforms like SharePoint
- Conduct ESG assessments leveraging AI tools, and contribute to the piloting and scaling of these approaches
What You’ll Bring
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program
- Interest or coursework in ESG, sustainability, or financial systems
- Some experience working with data and AI—through class projects, internships, or personal projects
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic Python or R for data tasks
- Strong attention to detail and an organized approach to problem-solving
- Open to learning and asking questions to better understand your role and tasks
- Able to collaborate with different teams and document your work clearly with direction from your manager
