Have a strong affinity with energy and sustainability topics, emphasizing areas such as industrial decarbonization, new energy solutions and energy infrastructure.
Bring skills and interests that complement Guidehouse’s broad strengths, for example related to agentic artificial intelligence, data automation and enterprise risk management.
Demonstrate a consulting mindset: commercially oriented, agile, and able to understand sector dynamics.
Possess strong soft skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Are proactive, independent, and passionate about consulting.
Internship Options
We are currently open to candidates for two types of internships (duration approx. 6 months):
Working Internship: Full-time (40 hours per week) focused on project work within our teams.
Thesis Internship: Combination of 32 hours per week dedicated to your thesis (as per university requirements) and at least 8 hours per week supporting project work within Guidehouse.
Possible thesis topics include (but are not limited to):
Industrial decarbonization & competitiveness of industry.
Offshore wind and system integration (e.g., offshore hydrogen production).
Renewable gases and infrastructure (e.g., hydrogen market design).
Integrated energy solutions (e.g., energy storage).
Power system flexibility (e.g., bid zone split impacts).
Other emerging topics.
What You Will Do:
Depending on your internship type, you will:
Work full-time on client projects (working internship), or
Write your thesis with support from our experts and contribute at least 8 hours/week to project work (thesis internship).
Contribute to diverse projects for international clients, from assessing environmental performance to supporting market development in new sectors.
Gather and analyze data, conduct industry research, and present findings.
Uphold Guidehouse’s values of respect, integrity, innovation, stewardship, and excellence, supporting our culture of inclusion and diversity.
Build relationships with colleagues and participate in team and industry events.
What you will need:
Enrolled in a relevant Master’s program (e.g., business, engineering, economics, mathematics, physical sciences, etc.).
Strong curiosity and/or experience in topics such as sustainability, advanced energy technologies, industrial decarbonization, bioeconomy, carbon markets, and related fields.
Have a strong affinity with energy and sustainability topics, emphasizing areas such as industrial decarbonization, new energy solutions and energy infrastructure.

Full professional proficiency in Dutch and English are required (both spoken and written).
No restrictions to work in the Netherlands and enrolled at a university.
Not subject to employment restrictions (e.g., non-compete) that would prevent you from performing the job.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
A team player who collaborates effectively at all levels.
A critical thinker with attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving.
Able to manage multiple projects and understand client expectations.
Comfortable communicating and open to coaching.
Experienced with Microsoft Office applications, and comfortable using artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency and project delivery.
Application Process
Submit your CV and Cover Letter, indicating your preferred internship type, thesis direction(s), and project interests. If selected, attend an (online) interview (end January 2026). If successful, interview with a potential supervisor (mid February 2026). Upon passing all rounds, receive an offer to join Guidehouse in March 2026.
