A rapidly expanding organisation in the renewable energy sector is seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening financial controls, ensuring accurate reporting, managing month-end processes, and leading a team of finance professionals. This role is ideal for a technically strong and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to step into a strategic leadership position.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly management accounts and ensure accuracy of financial reporting
- Review work completed by Accountants
- Compile intercompany loan schedules
- Process month-end and year-end journals
- Submit statutory returns and ensure compliance with SARS regulations
- Prepare income tax and provisional tax returns
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly
- Liaise with SARS and address queries
- Manage and develop the finance team
- Liaise with auditors and compile audit information
- Monitor and manage cash flow
- Oversee accurate payroll processing
- Approve credit applications
- Implement and maintain strong internal financial controls
- Develop and analyse budgets and forecasts
- Perform ad hoc financial tasks as required
Qualifications & Experience:- CA(SA) – highly preferable
- 2 years post-articles experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, and financial reporting
- Experience in developing and maintaining internal control environments
- Solid staff management experience
- Strong Excel skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Exposure to Sage advantageous
- Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet strict deadlines
