The Internship Experience

About the WM Renewable Energy - Operations & Compliance Team
This internship is part of the WM Renewable Energy - Operations & Compliance crew. We are seeking a motivated and organized undergraduate intern with a passion for supply chain management, project coordination, and technology-driven process improvement. This internship offers hands-on experience in asset tracking, calibration scheduling, vendor coordination, and digital tool implementation.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- GC Calibration Project
- Identify calibration needs, regulatory and internal, across WMRE sites
- Organize and schedule calibration activities
- Assist in training stakeholders on calibration processes
- Deploy and document process
- Asset Tracker Development Project
- Identify and catalog existing assets
- Participate in a site visit to our Engine Overhaul site and document findings
- Organize asset data and tracking systems
- Schedule and support training sessions
- Co-Develop implement asset tracking tools
- Asset Tracking Process Connection w/Accounting team
- Act as project lead in creating a standardized process for asset transfers working with accounting team
- Document and publish workflows and propose improvements
- Compliance utility meter tracking Project
- Support creation and deployment of QR code tags for assets
- Assist in metering tracking using Procore
- Identify tracking needs, document processes, and train users
- Training & Communication
- Develop clear and concise training documents
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Train WMRE operation teams as projects are completed and ready for rollout
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor’s degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship.
B. Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or related field
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable working with vendors and cross-functional teams
- Quick learner with interest in new technologies and digital tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to learn platforms like Procore
