Description
Fervo Energy is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support day-to-day U.S. import and domestic transportation activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers on U.S. import air and ocean shipments, along with familiarity coordinating domestic trucking operations.
This position is ideal for someone with several years of experience in international freight forwarding or import logistics who wants to grow into a corporate logistics role managing inbound shipments across multiple suppliers and countries.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track all U.S. inbound air, ocean, and domestic truck shipments to ensure timely and compliant delivery to project sites.
- Review and verify shipping documentation (Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, etc.) for accuracy and compliance with U.S. CBP import regulations.
- Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and suppliers to manage shipment bookings, customs clearances, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with CBP entry requirements and Fervo’s internal import compliance procedures.
- Monitor shipment milestones and proactively resolve delays or documentation issues.
- Coordinate U.S. domestic trucking activities, including scheduling, carrier communication, and delivery confirmations.
- Maintain organized shipment records, customs documentation, and cost trackers.
- Assist in the review and reconciliation of logistics invoices and support cost tracking and reporting.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to improve logistics visibility, reporting, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in U.S. import logistics or international freight forwarding, preferably with an emphasis on air and ocean imports.
- Strong understanding of U.S. CBP import clearance procedures, documentation requirements, and general knowledge of HTS classification and duty/tariff structure.
- Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and trucking carriers.
- Excellent attention to detail when reviewing documentation for compliance and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and shipment tracking systems; ERP or TMS experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Business preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting industrial, energy, EPC, heavy-lift, or capital-equipment projects
- Knowledge of Section 301/232 duties and current tariff applicability
- Familiarity with import compliance workflows, audit files, and CBP RFI/CF28/CF29 processes
- Experience working with suppliers in Europe, Asia, and/or LATAM
- Strong Excel and documentation control skills
Location
Fervo Energy’s corporate office is located in downtown Houston. This position is currently a hybrid work model with in-office meetings as required to align with work responsibilities.
