Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Role
Working in Cameco’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality department, this position will provide you with the opportunity for professional growth and ability to make a meaningful contribution in the safe and environmentally sound production of uranium, which is critical to fuelling the world’s transition to clean energy.
In this role, you will:
- Join a multi-disciplinary team of technical specialists providing geo-environmental expertise to support tailings, waste rock, and water management activities at Cameco’s mining and milling operations
- Be based in Saskatoon with periodic work weeks in northern Saskatchewan-based operations.
- Include performance of engineering assessments, project management, development and oversight of engineering work scopes, operational and mine closure planning, and technical document preparation and presentation.
- Use effective communication and collaboration skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with our operations teams, corporate office teams, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, geological, or environmental engineering
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in a consulting or mining environment
- Technical experience with tailings, waste rock, water balances, geotechnical drilling investigations, civil design, and reclamation
- Proven capability producing well-written reports and technical presentations
- Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation required and must be in good standing with the applicable provincial engineering association
- Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
Recommended:
- Graduate level degree in a related discipline
- Working level knowledge of specialty software applications such as Surfer, GoldSim, EQuIS, Origin, ArcGIS, Slope/W, Seep/W, and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
