About the role

The Quality and Sustainability Lead will drive our company’s quality management and sustainability initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement robust quality and sustainability programs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous quality and sustainability performance improvement.
What you’ll be doing
Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO9001 and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal audits, external assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and enhance quality performance.
- Establish and monitor key quality KPIs across all departments to drive accountability and improvement.
- Manage quality issues proactively, overseeing investigations, corrective actions, and fostering a culture of quality excellence throughout the organisation
Sustainability Initiatives
- Develop and implement sustainability strategies to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainable practices across the business.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance resource conservation in operations.
- Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to integrate sustainability into procurement, supply chain, and operational processes.
- Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, track progress toward goals, and ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives to raise awareness and encourage participation in sustainability programs.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability across the business, with a focus on reducing the Cost of Quality (COQ).
- Use data analysis and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and sustainable practices.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
- Solid experience in quality management, sustainability, or related fields, with demonstrated leadership experience
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and regulatory requirement
- Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies, initiatives, and reporting frameworks
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma) and sustainability (e.g. Green Star) is a plus
