About the role

The Quality and Sustainability Lead will drive our company’s quality management and sustainability initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and implement robust quality and sustainability programs, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous quality and sustainability performance improvement.

What you’ll be doing

Quality Management

Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO9001 and regulatory requirements.
Lead internal audits, external assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure compliance and enhance quality performance.
Establish and monitor key quality KPIs across all departments to drive accountability and improvement.
Manage quality issues proactively, overseeing investigations, corrective actions, and fostering a culture of quality excellence throughout the organisation

Sustainability Initiatives

Develop and implement sustainability strategies to minimise environmental impact and promote sustainable practices across the business.
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance resource conservation in operations.
Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to integrate sustainability into procurement, supply chain, and operational processes.
Monitor and report on sustainability metrics, track progress toward goals, and ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards.
Lead employee engagement initiatives to raise awareness and encourage participation in sustainability programs.

Continuous Improvement

Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability across the business, with a focus on reducing the Cost of Quality (COQ).
Use data analysis and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation.
Lead cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and sustainable practices.

What you’ll bring

Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred
Solid experience in quality management, sustainability, or related fields, with demonstrated leadership experience
Strong understanding of quality management principles, standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and regulatory requirement
Experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies, initiatives, and reporting frameworks
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma) and sustainability (e.g. Green Star) is a plus
